CMC is the most widely used and convenient product in cellulose ether, which is commonly known as “industrial MSG”.
CMC has many important characteristics, such as forming high viscosity colloid, solution, adhesive, thickening, flowing, emulsification, dispersing, shaping, water conservation, protecting colloid, film forming, acid resistance, salt resistance and turbidity resistance, and is harmless in physiology. Therefore, CMC has been widely used in food, medicine, daily chemical, oil, paper making, textile, construction and other fields.
(1) for drilling and drilling of oil and natural gas, well digging and other projects
① The mud containing CMC can make the well wall form a thin and strong filter cake with low permeability, and reduce the water loss.
② After CMC is added into the mud, the drilling machine can get low initial shear force, make the mud easy to release the gas wrapped in it, and discard the debris in the mud pit quickly.
③ Drilling mud has a certain existence period, like other suspended dispersions, and can be stabilized and extended by CMC.
④ Mud containing CMC is rarely affected by mold, so it is not necessary to maintain a high pH value and preservative.
⑤ CMC is used as the treatment agent of drilling mud washing fluid, which can resist the pollution of various soluble salts.
⑥ The slurry with CMC has good stability, and the water loss can be reduced even if the temperature is above 150 ℃.
CMC with high viscosity and high substitution degree is suitable for mud with low density and CMC with high substitution degree with low viscosity is suitable for mud with high density. CMC should be selected according to mud types, areas, well depth and other conditions.
(2) CMC is used as sizing agent in textile and printing and dyeing industries, and used for sizing of cotton, silk wool, chemical fiber, blended fabrics and other strong materials;
(3) CMC can be used as a smooth and sizing agent in paper industry. The paper can enhance the tensile strength by 40% – 50%, the compressive fracture degree increases by 50%, and the kneading ability increases by 4-5 times by adding 0.1% to 0.3% CMC.
(4) CMC can be used as a dirt adsorbent when it is added to synthetic detergent; Daily use chemistry, such as glycerine aqueous solution of CMC in toothpaste industry, is used as the glue base of toothpaste; The pharmaceutical industry is used as thickener and emulsifier; CMC aqueous solution is used as flotation after viscosity increasing.
(5) it can be used as adhesive, plasticizer, suspension agent and fixing agent for glaze in ceramic industry.
